About Us
Our story dates back to 1945, when we began incorporating the traditional craftsmanship of the Strona Valley and the villages overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Orta. Bisetti combines the expertise of local artisans with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, ensuring quality standards that meet the demands of the new millennium. In 2018, we relocated to a modern factory in Omegna, Italy, where we continue to produce wooden table and kitchen items.
Wood for the Kitchen
Wood is undoubtedly one of the most popular materials used in the kitchen. Apart from cabinets, doors, and shelves, wood is commonly employed in the preparation of food, such as cutting boards, tableware, and utensils. The abundance of wood in Italy is a significant contributor to its success. Bisetti offers an extensive range of wood products, including beech, walnut, fir, and olive wood.
Cutting Boards
Our cutting boards selection is diverse, ranging from grooved cutting boards and pizza boards to screen-printed boards used for cutting and serving!
Tableware
Enhance your dining experience with Bisetti's wide range of tableware options, including bread boards, charcuterie boards, and our unique pallet boards for serving a variety of foods.
Utensils
Bisetti offers a variety of serving utensils made from beech wood, including forks, spoons, spaghetti tongs, and spatulas!
Care Instructions for Your Cutting Board
Items you will need: food-grade mineral oil and board cream, such as Boos block board cream.
The Washing Process: 1. Wash your cutting board with water and soap, ensuring to clean the underside and edges to remove any stuck residue. This step is often overlooked and can result in warping if the moisture isn't distributed evenly. 2. Wipe down the board and allow it to dry thoroughly overnight, standing it on its edge to expose both large faces.
The Oiling Process: 1. The next morning, generously apply mineral oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any grooves or handles, ensuring to cover the wood evenly. Avoid excessive oil pooling. 2. Allow the oil to soak into the board for at least three hours, then let it dry on its edge as before.
The Cream Application: 1. Once the oil has absorbed into the wood, it's time to apply the cream. Spread the cream over the entire board, making sure to reach every nook and cranny. Use a lint-free microfiber cloth if you prefer not to apply it by hand. 2. After covering the entire board, let it sit overnight to create a moisture barrier. Keep it on its side with the broad faces out.
The Cleaning Process: 1. In the morning, use a lint-free microfiber cloth to rub the board in circular motions. The wood will become glossy and beautiful, indicating a successful barrier has been created.
