About Us
Our story begins in 1945, in the picturesque Strona Valley and the villages overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Orta. Bisetti combines the rich local artisan tradition with modern machinery and equipment, ensuring quality standards suitable for the demands of the new millennium. In 2018, Bisetti relocated to a modern factory in Omegna, Italy, where we continue to produce wooden table and kitchen items.
Wood For the Kitchen
Wood is undoubtedly one of the most popular materials in the kitchen. In addition to cabinets, doors, and shelves, wood is commonly used for food preparation in items like cutting boards, tableware, and utensils. This is because Italy has an abundance of high-quality wood. Bisetti offers a wide range of wood products, including beech wood, walnut, fir wood, and olive wood.
Cutting Boards
Bisetti offers a variety of cutting boards, including grooved cutting boards, pizza boards, and screen print boards for cutting and serving purposes!
Tableware
Enhance your table with Bisetti's wide range of items, including bread boards, charcuterie boards, and their unique pallet boards for serving a variety of foods.
Utensils
Bisetti offers beech wood serving utensils such as forks, spoons, spaghetti tongs, and spatulas!
Care of Your Cutting Board
Items You Will Need: Food grade mineral oil and board cream, such as Boos block board cream.
The Wash: Start by washing your cutting board with water (soap is fine too), including the underside and edges. Remove any stuck-on residue with a lint-free rag. Many people only wash the top, but this can cause the board to warp. After washing, wipe down the board and let it dry overnight, standing it on edge to ensure both large faces are exposed.
The Oil: The next morning, generously apply mineral oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle of the board. You don't need puddles of oil, just enough to cover the wood evenly. Let the oil soak into the board for at least three hours. Leave it on its edge to dry, as before.
The Cream: Once the oil has had time to penetrate the wood, apply the board cream directly to the wood and spread it over the entire board, ensuring every nook and cranny is covered. If you prefer, use a lint-free microfiber cloth to apply the cream. This forms a protective barrier to help the wood retain moisture. Let it sit overnight, on its side with the broad faces facing out.
The Clean: In the morning, use the lint-free microfiber cloth to rub the board in circular motions, creating a glassy and beautiful finish. Congratulations, you have successfully created a protective barrier for your cutting board.
FSC Certified: The wood used in our products comes from forests managed according to correct and respectful methods, in accordance with European environmental standards.
