About Us:
Our story begins in 1945, in the Strona Valley and the villages along the eastern shore of Lake Orta, where typical craftsmanship thrived. Combining local artisan tradition with modern machinery, Bisetti ensures quality standards that meet the demands of the new millennium. In 2018, we relocated our operations to the modern factory in Omegna, Italy, where we continue to produce wooden table and kitchen items.
Wood For the Kitchen:
Wood is undoubtedly one of the most commonly used materials in the kitchen. Apart from cabinets, doors, and shelves, it is also widely used for food preparation in the form of cutting boards, tableware, and utensils. The abundance of wood on Italian soil contributes to its popularity. Our range of wood products includes beech wood, walnut, fir wood, and olive wood.
Cutting Boards:
Bisetti offers a diverse range of cutting boards, including grooved cutting boards, pizza boards, and screen print boards used for cutting and serving.
Tableware:
Enhance your table with Bisetti's wide selection of tableware, such as bread boards, charcuterie boards, and unique pallet boards for serving various foods.
Utensils:
Bisetti provides serving utensils made of beech wood, including forks, spoons, spaghetti tongs, and spatulas.
Care of Your Cutting Board:
Items you will need: Food-grade mineral oil and board cream such as Boos block board cream.
The Wash:
Wash your cutting board with water (soap is fine too), including the underside and edges, removing any stuck-on residue with a lint-free rag. It's important to wash the entire board, as uneven swelling caused by moisture can warp it. Wipe down the board and let it dry thoroughly overnight, standing it on its edge to ensure both large faces are exposed.
The Oil:
The next morning, generously apply mineral oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any grooves, grips, or handles using your hands. The goal is to cover the wood with an even coat of oil. Allow the oil to soak into the board for at least three hours before drying it on its edge, just like before.
The Cream:
Once the oil has penetrated the grains, apply the board cream directly to the wood, ensuring every nook and cranny is covered. If you prefer not to get your hands greasy, use a lint-free microfiber cloth to apply the cream. This will create a barrier that helps the wood retain moisture. Let the board sit overnight on its side, with the broad faces facing out.
The Clean:
In the morning, use the lint-free microfiber cloth to rub the board in circular motions. The wood will become glossy and beautiful, indicating a successful barrier has been created.
