Care of Your Cutting Board To care for your cutting board, you will need food grade mineral oil and board cream such as Boos block board cream. Wash the cutting board with water and soap, making sure to wash the underside and edges. Wipe down the board, and let it dry overnight. The next morning, apply a generous layer of mineral oil to the sides, top, bottom, and any groove, grip, or handle. Let the oil soak for at least three hours. Then, apply the board cream, spread it over the entire board, and let it sit overnight. In the morning, rub the board in circular motions with a lint-free microfiber cloth to create a successful barrier and maintain the quality of the wood.
